The new sculpture series by Claudia Comte, which consists of 40 individual beverage cans, can currently be admired in the Kunstraum Dornbirn. The marble sculptures are based on aluminum cans from different countries. These were deformed by the artist, scanned and milled from Carrara marble. The elaborate finish is done by the artist in a traditional sculptor manner. The 40 objects are individual in their form, bear names that allow conclusions to be drawn about the country of origin of the original cans, and are enlarged threefold in their dimensions. In Dornbirn, Claudia Comte intertwines the temporal coincidence of the first commercial successes of beverage cans in the 1950s and the work's appearance about the elemental force of the seas by Rachel L. Carson.
