To celebrate Xenia Hausner’s first solo show at KÖNIG GALERIE for Gallery Weekend 2022, KÖNIG SOUVENIR presents a new edition to our shop: MARIANNE (2022), a cotton/silk blend scarf with a portrait in the round of the title character. Marianne is a French emblem of democracy and resistance, and in Hausner’s take, this symbol is represented as a young woman with ruby-coloured lipstick and matching head shawl. Set within the ornamental frame of a commemorative stamp, an overlaid mark reads “2046”, a postcard mailed from the future.
